1989 – NSW Aboriginal Health Promotions State Wide Media Campaign
For this project Mark & Lisa Russell produced …
6 x 30sec telespots exposing statistics relating to Indigenous mortality and morbidity rates in NSW.
6 x posters reflecting the importance of a healthy lifestyle and diet for Indigenous people.
1990 – Script for 15 minute presentation video. This video was produced for screening at the Ministerial Launch of the Aboriginal Health Promotions Section (NSW Health) Media Campaign. This project was launched at the State Library, Sydney, by the then Minister for Health Hon Mr Peter Collins.
1990 – The History of Aboriginal Health – 20 minute slide presentation. Contracted by NSW Dept. of Health. Researched and scripted commentary for slide presentation. Organised & attended still photography shoot with professional photographer.
1990 – A script for a twenty minute training video was also written. This explained in detail the tasks which had to be performed by Indigenous committees wishing to set up aged care centres for their elders and included information supplied in a manual format.
1990 – Management Document – Researched and reported on procedures needed to establish an Aged Accommodation Centre. A 25 page manual was written which outlined management procedures, establishment duties, personnel required, role descriptions for employees, needs of residents, government requirements for gaining funding.
1991 – Otitis Media in Aboriginal Communities – Contracted by NSW Dept. of Health. Researched & wrote a 6 page report on the prevalence of Otitis Media in Aboriginal communities with recommendations for addressing the problem.
1991 – Infant Nutrition Slide Presentation. Contract from NSW Health Department. Researched and wrote14 page commentary script to accompany 40 slides. Directed still photography shoot with professional photographer and produced entire package.
1991 – Personal Health Records Booklet – Contracted by NSW Health Department to re-write standard Health Records booklet into a form which was culturally appropriate for Aboriginal people. This booklet is given to all Aboriginal parents in NSW on the birth of their child, for the purpose of recording all health facts.
1991 – Pregnancy Care Video for Indigenous Parents – Researched, scripted, produced and directed 20 minute educational video for NSW Health Department.
1992 – Drug and Alcohol abuse manual – Researched, wrote and published a 65 page manual about drug problems experienced in Aboriginal communities. The text also gave information about the effect drugs and alcohol have on the human body and ways to overcome drug problems. Research was done through extensive reading and also by visiting Aboriginal communities and interviewing community members.
1992 – 4.5 min Promotional Song Let’s Get Together
Produced to highlight the need for Aboriginals and non Aboriginals to work together. It promotes the theme of all Australians sharing their skills in a postive and harmonious way, for the good of the Nation.
1993 – “In Our Hands” – 25 minute educational/awareness video about drug and alcohol abuse in Aboriginal communities. Researched, scripted, produced and directed entire production which included on-location shoot with on-camera interviews. Also supervised on-line edit.

1993 – CES Skills Training Course – Planned, organised and implemented a 6 week skills training course for unemployed men. Employed a tutor for Small Motor Maintenance Component. Wrote literacy and numeracy component and tutored participants. Documented all information about the course & managed the budget for Federal Government Dept. of Education, Employment & Training.
1994 – CES Skills Training Course – Planned, organised and implemented a 12 week skills training course for unemployed men. Employed tutors for Small Motor Maintenance and Welding components. Coordinated entire course including work experience placements for participants, completion of First Aid courses, completion of resumes and all budgets & documentation for Federal Dept. Of Education, Employment & Training.

1994 – Walking, Talking, Working Together – Program compiled for Australian Local Government Association to encourage Indigenous people to become involved in Local Government. Researched & wrote aims, objectives and proposed strategies for implementing the program. Provided resources and assisted workshop facilitators from KPMG.

1997 – Assisted in planning and implementing “Look, Listen & Learn” Education Pathways Conference for Aboriginal students, Armidale. 5 day live-in Conference held at Earl Page College, UNE, Armidale.
2002 – Assisted in planning and implementing “Look, Listen & Learn” Education Pathways Conference for Aboriginal students, Armidale. 4 day live-in Conference held at Robb College, UNE, Armidale.
2004 – Assisted in planning and implementing “Look, Listen & Learn” Education Pathways Conference for Aboriginal students, Armidale. 4 day live-in Conference held at Lake Ainsworth Sport & Recreation Centre, Lennox Head, NSW.
